Trumpeter Chardonnay 2000
Winemaker Notes
The 2000 growing season offered ideal conditions for the cultivation of rich, concentrated fruit in the high altitude wine country of Mendoza. A long, cool summer coupled with a mild harvest season combined to allow the grapes to ripen gradually, reaching their optimum level of maturity.
The unique microclimate of our 40 year old high altitude Rutini Vineyard with its bright sunny days and cool crisp nights results in the complete development of ripe tropical fruit flavors and aromas perfectly balanced with bright, clean acidity.
The 2000 Trumpeter Chardonnay has an intense greenish yellow color. The nose is full of ripe peach aromas with a light touch of vanilla from oak aging. In the mouth it feels soft and round, with pineapple fruit flavors and a light mineral character.
